Denmark "Paedagogical ICT Committee"
ICT at Ullerød
Inspired by our visit in Northern Ireland we have sat down an ICT-committee at Ullerød.
At our school we have a lot of hardware and educational ICT-programs.
We have laptops for almost every student, smart boards in every classroom, Ipads and projectors to broadcast the screen from the laptops during the lessons.
We have at lot of educational software programs, we can use in almost every subject. The staff at our school uses these items and programs according to the Danish law and school curriculum. Most
of the students use laptops, when they are searching for information during classes. They also use laptops to write their school tasks in several subjects. We also have a staff member to support,
when the hardware brakes down.
What we did not have at our school, and what we got inspired by in Northern Ireland, was an overview on all the ICT (software, hardware etc.) and a local school curriculum on how to use the hardware and all the software programs. We also need a description on how to combine what the students learn on each level during their time at our school.
We also need to educate the staff on having to use the many different software programs that the school has got access to.
Therefore we have sat down an ICT-team to get the overview and write a local school curriculum.
The team members are combined by staff members from the youngest students to the older ones.
First we got an overview on all the software programs we got. Then we got an overview on which programs we should keep and which we could spare.
The next step is to contact the software companies so they can educate us probably in how to use their products.
We have not finished all our goals, and there is at lot of work in front of us.
